Some of my best memories of 40 years, We want Peace Music video, Meet the new Jamaican Ambassador to Japan, Movies Movies

Hi again,

So since my last blog, I turned 40! And yeah my back and neck pains continue. Had to go to a spiral taping session thingy that usually helps. I haven't been to this place in 2 years, I will talk some more about that later. And Yeah I'm 40! And still a geek/nerd!

--------------------------------

--------------------------------

Here are the movies I watched since my last blog.

Interesting movie about the life of a famous American billionaire named Howard Hughes. 7/10

Standard Michael Bay directed movie with car crashes and explosions etc. Hey, but it was exciting-ish. 7/10.

Chick flick but, you gotta give them what they want if you catch my drift. 6/10

Been looking for some movies that according to IMDB are some of the best movies ever made, based on ratings. This one was high on the list and it was on Netflix so I decided to watch it. It was a bit disturbing but still interesting. The ending was oh too sudden and anti-climatic. 7/10.

Actually enjoyed this movie. Action, story twist and funny. 8/10.

This was pretty funny. Had me laughing for a while. 7/10.

This was also funny with some action scenes as well. Good watch. 8/10.

This movie was good but I didn't like the tone of it, the general message, or the ending. 7/10

Just one of them movies that makes you feel good. 7/10

Part 1 to the previous movie. Watched part 2 before part 1 but still good. I preferred part 1 so 8/10.

Gangster stuff with blood and gore but based on a true story. Interesting. 7/10.

Already watched this movie like 10 times over the past 21 years but I think it's still the best movie ever made! My wife never saw it before so I made her watch it. Not part 2 or part 3, those sucked bad. 10/10!!!

One of those movies where you have to think about what's going on. Really interesting concept 6/10. I love Christopher Nolan movies that tests your imagination.

Can you believe I'm watching this movie for the first time? I'm wondering if I saw it as a kid but I don't remember any of it. It was on Japanese TV. 6/10. I also have never seen the very first Star Wars...

Watched this which is based on a true story about FOX network's former top guy. 6/10

Aside from the blood and gore which are usually a part of these war movies, this was pretty decent. Beautifully shot and is also based partly on a true story. 8/10. It does have some resemblance to "Saving Private Ryan"

I understand where they are coming from with this film, and I like they idea how they included someone with special needs as a main cast, but not really my kinda film. 5/10. Good effort nevertheless.

It was actually close to the end of this movie I said to myself, "wait a sec, haven't I seen this scene before?" Then when I went to IMDB to rate it, I saw that I already gave it a rating. 8/10.

This was really funny and based on a true inspirational story. 8/10.

Another movie based on a true story, apparently I enjoy these true to life films. Halfway through watching this, my wife asked, "isn't that Johnny Depp?" I said "No it's not"... I had no idea that it was him. Didn't recognize him in the least. 8/10.

So earlier this year, me and my wife started watching this anime. I haven't been watching much anime recently except for One Piece. This relatively new anime was no. 1 on Japan's Netflix for a bit, so me and my wife decided to start watching it in April... and we were blown away! The concept and story are very interesting and it just looks really good. So anyway, the anime studio made a theatre animated movie which is a continuation of the series on Netflix. And trust me, it was superb. In only 15 days, it has been the highest grossing theatre movie in the history of Japan. 10/10

This is a clip of some people's reaction while watching one of the episodes (not the movie).

Pretty interesting movie and actually includes Snowden himself. 7/10.

Actually still watching this movie now and have it on pause. About 30 mins left to complete but I am giving it a 6/10.

These are the docuseries and drama series stuff that I watched/been watching.

This next one below is one I saw on YouTube and it is really funny while educational. it's called Oversimplified!

Day 4476 (The BIG 4 0 in Japan - 13th Birthday in Japan)

Saturday, Sept 19, 2020

In recent years, whenever it gets close to my birthday and the season starts slowly changing from summer to fall, I get a headache and I feel a little down. I realize though that a couple people seem to have this same thing around this time a year, sigh!

Anyway, me and Takako went to a cake shop and also to a supermarket to buy some stuff.

She also surprised me with a Nintendo Switch lite as well as a system that has all Nintendo games on it from years ago. I thought about buying it before but because I have so many unfinished games, I decided to put it off.

Then for the first time since March 2020, we ate out at a Japanese restaurant. Surprisingly the restaurant didn't have a lot of people even though it was on a Friday.

Wednesday, Oct 14, 2020

I heard from my boss that I actually got a promotion today. I was surprised because it's during these tough times. I am humbled and give God thanks.

I also have lots of video shooting to do. One of my most recent ones involve me wearing a male kimono.

Met the new Jamaican ambassador to Japan today, Her Excellency, Ms. Shorna-Kay Richards.

I also started creating a new website for the Jamaicans in Japan Association. It looks like this so far.

That's all for now. See you next blog.
