Day 229 { Bunka No Hi / Yaki Niku / My Poem on Life}

Today is another holiday in Japan hoorayy!!! This holiday is known as Bunka no Hi or Culture Day. I spent the entire culture day inside my apartment. And today for the first time since I got my barbecue stove thing from my friend in July, I did Yaki Niku in my apartment :)) it was WONDERFUL!!! I got the beef from this old lady who I normally pay my gas bill to. And I bought the barbecue sauce at the supermarket.

Last month while on the train to a meeting, I started writing a poem... Today I decided to finally type it up ... It is entitled :

What is life...And here it is:

What is Life by Dave O. Collymore

There is this thing that no one can fully Comprehend.

It is this thing that many of us try so hard to Defend.

Why is it here? No one can say for Sure.

But it is here, and it we can't Ignore.

It is this thing called life; what exactly is It?

Is it a play, a movie or just a little Skit?

After a while it will get old and Gray to our Dismay.

Then not long after, it will simply fade Away Day-by-Day.

Is it a profound concept, orchestrated by a supreme being in the Skies?

Or is it all just a dream, and thats the reason for so many ifs, buts, and Whys?

Is it about being happy, getting rich, finding a husband or a Wife?

Someone help me to understand this possible concept of Life.

Civilizations come and they go, none lasting Forever.

None ubiquitous, no matter how smart they get or how Clever.

There exists the ruthless, the selfish, the nonchalant and the Snobbish.

The carefree, the helpful, the lazy, but is this all Rubbish?

Why can't we just love eachother and accept each other's Flaws?

One can't even fathom the amount of evil, selfishness has Caused.

So many races - black, white, arab, mongoloid and Hispanic.

A wonderful world it would be, if we could all unite without a Panic.

A world without disease, poverty, hatred, xenophobia, bias, war, selfishness or Strife;

that would be tantamount to what I would ever even begin to consider as a good Life.
