Day 231 { Observation 1}

Felt really messed up this morning like I didn't even want to go to work. But I dragged myself out. I even got observed by some other teachers in Niimi, but luckily it was only about 5 or 6 of them. It seemed to have gone well for the most part though...I asked the principal what he thought about it and he said it was WONDERFUL... I also asked the grade 6 teacher who I think is a little more objective and she said that in her opinion the content for that group was a little too basic... Well, I didn't create the lesson plan and actually, if you should seriously follow the extremely simple yearly plan, then it was ok... However, this teacher kind of push the students a little more than the norm, which can be good and bad. Good because it will improve their English, but bad because some of the kids don't really want their English to be improved. I was observed at grade 1 and grade 5.

Later on, I went to the English conversation thing where I and another JET ALT girl planned a presentation about our countries... We are supposed to present some information on our countries on November 29, at some library in my area...

So I was trying to resist speaking about this politics thing, but I couldn't... Almost all the world it seem is either very surprised or very happy that Obama won the elections...Ohh my, a president of the USA with dark skin....But isn't he also half-white?? Do you hear anybody saying that any at all??? I think people are expecting too much from this one human being...This age old problem of racism in America isn't going to be fixed just like that. Nor is any of the other problems that they are facing now... All I know is that this guy better be careful everywhere he goes.. Because many people don't like the idea of a dark-skinned man in the white house...
