Day 287 { If you want to sit then ask me / Fukuoka Ma de }
Richard I am finally going to Fukuoka, and is when Stephen nuh deh deh...
So today I got ready and went to Okayama city. I got there at about 11:30 am there about. While on the train, I sat in this empty seat all by myself, but behind me there was this Japanese guy sitting there. Suddenly, after about 10 seconds of me sitting, this guy decided to get up and sit over on the other side of the train and gave me this weird stare...As to why he did this, only heaven knows. I think maybe I am a little too observant of my surroundings when I am travelling alone, so I tend to notice every single thing. If I was travelling with some friends, maybe I wouldn't have noticed.
So I met up with my British friend from my training in March and also one of his British mates, ... We then took a train and a bus to a place which is known as Kurosaki. After getting some stuff at the super market, where an old woman suddenly decided to spark a little conversation with me, we went back. Why is it that its either Japanese old women or Japanese men that decide to start up a conversation with me??? Never ever a female in my age range...
So we eventually met up with a girl from New Zealand, and we all went to a restaurant in a main city called Hakata which is like the main town in the major city of Fukuoka, called Fukuoka City.... We had some food and this was where New Years Day 2009 caught us in Japan. This was the first time in my life as far as I know, that New Years Day didn't catch me inside a church as well as in my country...

I remember once, carrying out one of my little test observations that I do every now and then. This one was to see which one of the persons on the train would be brave enough to say excuse me and take the seat beside me....So this little experiment was on a packed train, there were 2 persons seated in front of me looking in my direction and I deliberately didn't take the window seat and sat in the aisle seat instead. Now as I said, this train was jam packed so many many people were standing, and many more coming on the train. Can you believe that not even 1 person took the empty seat beside me??? Some persons came, take a look at the seat and then simply walked by... Others just came and stood up instead. I would never be able to tell you in this lifetime why no one sat in the seat or was brave enough to say sumimasen (excuse me)...
Anyway, I took a shinkansen (very fast train) from Okayama City to an area in Fukuoka prefecture called Kokura. Kokura is a main town which is within another main town of Fukuoka called Kita-Kyushu... Ohh and Fukuoka prefecture is on another island of Japan all together. The southern most of the four (4) key islands of Japan known as Kyushu Island.
